To the south of Eastleigh town is Lakeside Country Park offering pleasant walks, fishing, canoeing and sailing facilities. The park has a newly opened outdoor arena and popular miniature steam railway. Hedge End, just five miles away, is home to the Hampshire Cricket ground at the Rose Bowl.
