The Solent is one of the busiest locations for all watersports. The more adventurous may wish to take to the air at the flying school in Lee on Solent, or race around the karting circuit in Fareham. Local leisure centres offer swimming, health and fitness activities, ten pin bowling and the only ice rink in South Hampshire.

Shopping

Fareham features a covered shopping mall with many well known names and other smaller specialist shops. The open air market is held on Monday and ample parking and a pedestrianised street and seating areas make shopping an enjoyable experience.

Communications

The ferry ports of Portsmouth and Southampton are very close. The M27 connects the A3 and M3 to provide direct routes to a number of key destinations. London is only 80 miles away and train links can reach the city centre within an hour and a half. Buses and ferries make a practical alternative to the car for local travel.

Schooling

The area offers a choice of well regarded schools specialising in a variety of sporting and academic achievements. Many schools provide transport for those students living further away. Fareham college offers a number of part time and evening courses to complement the full time courses.

Hospital

A network of health centres and day hospitals support the main Accident and Emergency Hospital ( The Queen Alexandra ) at Cosham.
