Living in Worthing
Worthing is the largest town in West Sussex and was recently proclaimed the second most profitable business community in the country. It is situated just south of the Downs on the coast. Commonly known as 'Sunny Worthing', the sun often shines even when it is raining over the Downs.
Entertainment
The town centres around the Pier which regualrly stages shows and plays in its Pavilion. For the more youthful, there is a nightclub at the end of the pier and numerous other clubs and bars in the town.
The Connaught is the main theatre staging plays and films; alternatively the listed Dome Theatre shows the latest releases.

Shopping
The Worthing town centre initiative has helped make Worthing a pleasant shopping area, with everything within easy walking distance in the pedestrianised area. All the high street shops are here, including Marks & Spencers, British Home Stores and Bentalls.
Sports
Worthing stages the National Bowls Championships, and is also home to the famous basketball team, The Worthing Bears.
Being next to the sea there are several sailing and rowing clubs with many opportunities for windsurfing and waterskiing.
The rugby club has several teams including mini, womens and senior. There are various private gyms, tennis clubs and the Aquarina public swimming pool.
Communications
The main rail line follows the coastal path, stopping at all local Worthing stations. To reach Gatwick and London, the London trains go via Hove in a journey taking some 60 minutes.
There are frequent buses travelling within the town, to local villages and to the larger towns of Brighton and Por and to local villages.

Worthing has many private nursery facilities for working parents. There is a good choice of primary, senior and independent schools. Northbrook College offers degree and diploma courses, together with a wide range of night-school classes. Worthing also has many language schools for foreign students.

The Worthing and Southlands Hospital is new and has teamed up with Southlands Hospital to provide an excellent service and facilities, including an accident and emergency service.
