Living in Guildford
Set on the River Wey, Guildford enjoys a position amidst beautiful countryside populated with several typical English villages, traditional pubs, gardens and stately homes. Guildford is an historic busy town situated on the River Wey in Surrey countryside close to the North Down's within 35 minutes of London.
Guildford boasts a thriving social scene with restaurants, pubs and bars to suit all tastes and palates. Complimented with a cinema, theatres and sports complex.
Stoke Park provides open green area that includes, cricket pitches, tennis courts, and is popular with runners as well as an space for children to play. Guildford Spectrum leisure complex includes a sports arena, badminton courts, football pitches, basketball courts in addition to the four pools to suit all abilities. There is also ten pin bowling and an ice skating rink which is home to the Guildford Flames, Guildford's ice hockey team.
Guildford is renowned for its superb shopping facilities which is populated with all the major high streets chains complimented further by a diverse range of specialist and independent retailers.
Guildford has a choice of train stations with the main line station on the Waterloo line in addition to the London Road and Shalford Stations. There is also an excellent bus service which provides frequent buses around the area and also offers park and ride facilities.
