Letting specialist Leaders are delighted to be supporting their contractor Mark Eaton in his ambitious quest to raise as much as he can for Teenage Cancer Trust by running in a gruelling series of road races.
Mark took part in the Chichester Priory 10K Road Race on 5th February, his 19th race in 11 months. Despite never having run seriously before March 2011, Mark has now taken part in a total of sixteen 10K and 5K races since he began his challenge, plus the Great South Run and the Gosport Half Marathon.
Mark finished the Chichester race in 101st position out of 1500 runners, and achieved a time of 38 minutes, 10 seconds, one of his fastest times so far. He still has another 3 races to complete as part of his fundraising challenge, through which he has so far raised more than £1600 for Teenage Cancer Trust.
Says Mark: “I’ve done a lot of training in preparation for these races and to my relief none of them have been as difficult as I’d expected! Thank you to everyone who has sponsored me, and to Leaders who have kindly paid for all my race entries, kit and shoes, and are sponsoring me throughout my challenge. I am doing this for Teenage Cancer Trust because last year a friend of my daughter sadly lost his battle with cancer at the age of just 20 and I would like to help his chosen charity.”

His efforts to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust are truly admirable. This is a fantastic charity which helps young people with cancer to receive specialist care in an environment tailored to suit their needs.”
Teenage Cancer Trust believes that teenagers should not have to stop being teenagers just because they have cancer. So they fund and build specialist units for young people in NHS hospitals.
These units bring teenagers with cancer together with loads of new friends of their own age so they can support each other.
Teenage Cancer Trust units aren’t like ordinary cancer wards. Everything about them has been designed to give teenagers the very best chance of a positive outcome. Their aim is build enough units so that every teenager in the UK will have access to the specialist support they provide.
As a long established company with a large number of employees, landlords and tenants in the area, Leaders feel very involved with the local community and like to contribute whenever possible by supporting local projects, charities, sports teams, schools or individual initiatives.
