Developers are seeking public opinion for a new site in Shoreham, theargus.co.uk reports.
As yet, WN Developments has not submitted its proposals to the Adur District Council, but is instead gauging public opinion to give the development the best chance of being accepted when it is submitted.
Currently, the plans include turning the old Parcel Force site in Brighton Road into 132 homes as well as the building of numerous shops and cafés nearby. The commercial space would be around 1,265 square metres in size and will also boast 170 bicycle spaces and a 148-space car park.
The building is currently being used as a roller disco but if plans are accepted then Shoreham letting agents could be offering up the flats within the next few years.
In line with the consultation phase, Shoreham Beach Residents' Association (SBRA) has called for locals to give their opinion on the issue to influence the proposals.
"This is obviously a gateway site, which is highly prominent from Shoreham Beach and we are keen to know what people think," SBRA Chairman John Bradshaw told shorehamherals.co.uk.
"We are working closely with Sussex Wharf residents and would like to gauge the views from all areas of the beach."
