Derby estate agents expanding after local acquisition

An estate agents with several branches across the East Midlands has continued its expansion following the recent acquisition of another local firm.

National company Leaders, which already operated offices in Derby city centre, Pride Park, Belper, Long Eaton and Borrowash as well as other locations in the region, has bought Derby-based lettings business MBM Management Limited.

It comes just three weeks after Leaders had also acquired Bulmer Estates in Nottingham and further enhances its presence in the East Midlands.

Jaime Hammond, area manager for the East Midlands at Leaders, says: “We are thrilled to have acquired MBM and look forward to managing its 500-plus property portfolio and working with many new local landlords and tenants.

“I am also delighted to confirm the MBM team is staying with us and will continue to offer the same great service under the Leaders name. MBM was known for fantastic customer service and excellent results – and we look forward to building on that formidable reputation.

“This move extends our reach across Derby and cements our position as one of the city’s most successful and trusted estate and letting agents. We have gone from strength to strength in Derby since acquiring IMS Lettings just over two years ago and are extremely positive about the future of the local property market.

“We will now begin to roll out our range of services to MBM landlords, which includes everything from an introductory package to a fully managed and rent guarantee service.”

Leaders has expanded its premises at its Pride Park property management hub in order to accommodate the staff required to manage the extra properties taken on since the acquisition.

Helen Hufton, the daughter of MBM’s founder and owner Malcolm Blount, who joined the business in 2000 and will stay with Leaders as acquired portfolio manager says: “This is an exciting new chapter for myself, my team and our clients.

“I know that we’re in very safe hands with Leaders which has always been at the forefront of best practice in lettings and where we will benefit from excellent professional training and development, plus a wealth of opportunity to progress our future careers.”
