Estate Agent's pop-up Festive Cafe to raise money for Acorns

Following the success of its Halloween café recently, a Redditch estate agents will once again be setting up a pop-up café – this time with a festive theme - in an effort to raise money for Together for Short Lives and Acorns Children’s Hospice.

Leaders, which is based in Church Green East, is to open its Festive café on Saturday 10th December. A team will be on hand to serve a range of seasonal hot drinks, as well as a selection of delicious Christmas treats.

There will also be some great prizes to be won in a grand raffle, adult’s tombola and children’s lucky dip.

Amanda McNaughton, branch manager at Leaders in Redditch, says: “We would love to see as many people as possible taking a break from their Christmas shopping and popping in to enjoy some Christmas cheer with us.

“All of the money raised on the day will be donated to our charity partner, Together for Short Lives, which supports all 54 children’s hospices across the UK, including Acorns in our local area.”

Leaders has pledged to raise £50,000 for Together for Short Lives in 2016 and is very close to achieving the goal, with the current total just over £42,500. This comes on the back of a successful partnership in 2015, during which Leaders branches raised a total of £45,000 for the charity.

Annesa Hussain, corporate fundraising officer at Acorns, said: “This is another great initiative from the Leaders team and we hope their Festive café will be as popular as their Spooktacular cafe was at Halloween! It costs Acorns £10 million every year to continue providing care for children and families and we rely on events like this for the bulk of this amount, so we’re really grateful to Leaders for their support.”

Acorns provides specialist medical care for life limited and life threatened children and young people and support for their families. It provides this care for families across the West Midlands at its three hospices and in the community.
