Four teenage students from The Hamble School have been rewarded for their leadership at a prize-giving ceremony in Southampton.
The awards, sponsored by local property specialist Leaders, were handed out at a special celebration at St Mary’s Stadium on 14th July. A successful student was chosen from Years 7, 8, 9 and 10 and each was presented with a glass engraved trophy.
Local MP Mims Davies was on hand to present the Leaders’ Young Leaders Award 2016 to the respective winners in front of an audience of more than 500 people.
Karen Arkell, branch manager at Leaders in Sarisbury Green, says: “All of our team were thrilled to be involved in this celebration of young leaders. It was a privilege to hear about the achievements of local students and to share their night of success.
“All four of the award winners have demonstrated their natural leadership abilities over the course of the academic year.
“From volunteering their time to lead tutor group activities to arranging sports events and taking a key role in the Christmas carol competition, the students showed there are many ways to lead by example. We look forward to seeing where their talents take them in the future.”
Students were also commended for encouraging others to get involved in academic challenges, showing friendship and support to those facing personal difficulties and representing the school in regional events.
