Landlords and home owners who put their property on the rental market now have a great chance of it being successfully let by Christmas, according to local property specialist Leaders.
Jane Wilkinson, lettings director at Leaders, says: “The run up to Christmas might not seem like the obvious time to put your property on the lettings market, but demand from tenants is extremely high at the moment, with many people keen to move and get settled in their new home before Christmas, so it is actually an excellent opportunity.”
By making a property available to let now, landlords can stay one step ahead of those who may be waiting until the new year before bringing their property to the rental market.
“Everybody knows January is a busy time for lettings,” Jane continues, “but by putting your property on the market now you can get a head start on the competition to secure motivated and quality tenants. In the unlikely event your property is not let before Christmas, you will be in pole position to reach out to applicants looking to move in the new year.”
As well as the pre-Christmas period being a busy time for lettings, millions of people begin the search for their next home during the festive period itself. Indeed, a staggering 15.7 million visits to Rightmove were recorded last year between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, so it is a shrewd move to have your property listed during this time, when fewer properties tend to be available.
