In the last two months we have incorporated two high-calibre new estate agency businesses into our growing network, bringing the number of Leaders branches across the country to 103 and the number of Leaders employees to over 1,000.
IMS in Derby and Aston Mead in Surrey and Berkshire joined us in June and July respectively, enabling us to extend the Leaders name and service to Derbyshire for the first time - with branches in Derby, Duffield, Belper, Borrowash and Long Eaton - and to the new locations of Sunningdale in Berkshire and Chertsey in Surrey.
Both businesses are long-established, with excellent reputations locally, and share our commitment to high standards of practice and customer care. The vast majority of staff have joined Leaders, bringing with them a wealth of sales and letting expertise in their local markets.
Matthew Light, Leaders’ acquisitions director, said: “We are delighted to welcome our new customers and staff who have joined us from IMS and Aston Mead.
“We are especially pleased to welcome our Sunningdale office as our 100th branch, and our Pride Park administrator, Hannah Hepworth, who is the 1,000th employee to join our company.
“This is a landmark moment for us, having started out as a single office with just two members of staff in Brighton 32 years ago. We are proud of our success and excited about our future as we continue to extend our service into new areas of the UK.”
With the same staff and the same service in place, the only changes our clients will notice will be positive ones, particularly when it comes to the power of our marketing and branch network to sell or let their properties quickly for the best possible price.
As well as extensive advertising on Rightmove, Primelocation and Zoopla, plus our own popular website leaders.co.uk which attracts more than 125,000 visits a month, we have a distinctive TV and radio advertising campaign running nationally. This, along with a network of more than 100 branches, ensures that - whether people are moving locally or across the country - the Leaders name is well recognised and all our customers’ properties are exposed to a much wider audience.
Commenting on the sale of Aston Mead, former owner Charles Hesse said: “The decision to sell your business can never be an easy one and when it came to deciding who the new owners should be we chose very carefully. We are delighted with our choice; Leaders shares our commitment to high standards in every aspect of its business, from customer service and the calibre of its staff, to its professionalism and integrity.
“Its impressive growth and ongoing success gave us confidence that the sale would bring lasting benefits to our staff and clients. We are certain that our clients and staff have a bright and successful future ahead of them as part of Leaders.”
IMS’s former owner, Chris Griffin, echoed these sentiments, saying: “I am confident that the business I have built over the last 10 years will have a secure and successful future as part of Leaders. In choosing a company to sell to it was crucial to me that my clients and staff would be well looked after and that the business would continue to be run in line with the high standards I have set and maintained over the last decade.
“My clients will continue to receive an excellent service whilst also having access to a broader range of property services in many more locations. This is an exciting new chapter for the business and I’m looking forward to seeing how it develops under Leaders in the coming months and years.”
