It’s no secret that the property market is booming, with both the sales and lettings markets getting busier by the day.
Our teams across the country have witnessed this at first hand and had the pleasure of selling and letting a variety of spectacular, fascinating and unusual properties in 2015.
Here, we take a look at the top ten most eye-catching homes to be brought to the market by Leaders in the last 12 months.
1) The Lookout
Location: Ashton Keynes, Wiltshire
The opportunity to call a castle-like building home does not come around too often, so there was no shortage of potential tenants for this unique building in Wiltshire earlier this year. As if the remarkable architecture wasn’t enough, the property also offers stunning lake views.
2) Executive living with the stars
Location: Weybridge, Surrey
Asking price: £3,950,000
Jadica was undoubtedly one of the grandest properties we were able to place our board in front of this year. Set over 7,000 sq ft of space in the prestigious St George’s Hill estate in Weybridge, home to numerous A-listers, the house was based around a beautiful octagon design.
3) Whitlingham Hall
Location: Norwich, Norfolk
Asking price: £525,000
Fancy living in a Grade II listed building without having to find the tens of millions of pounds it would cost to buy the whole thing? The answer is to snap up a snazzy apartment, such as this three-bedroom home we offered for sale in Whitlingham Hall.
4) A home with a… campsite!
Location: New Milton, Dorset
Everybody is hoping to find some hidden perks when they view a property, but few can expect an entire campsite to themselves. That’s exactly what was on offer at this rural home in New Milton though, where there is space for ten caravans or tents with private shower room facilities.
5) A truly holy property
Location: Tadworth, Surrey
This former chapel certainly stands out in the streets of Tadworth, Surrey. It was let by our Dorking branch this year and the team had a great time showcasing its beautiful interior - including a spiral staircase and grand reception room - to prospective tenants.
6) The Round House
Location: Rougham, Suffolk
Very few properties on the market in 2015 can claim to boast charm and character in the same way as the remarkable Round House. The chance to enjoy 360-degree views of the Suffolk countryside was clearly too much to resist, as the period property was quickly let.
7) Linden Lodge
Location: Chichester, West Sussex
Asking price: £1,075,000 Linden Lodge offers buyers the chance to secure a fabulous home for themselves and begin a buy-to-let portfolio at the same time. The sprawling country home on the outskirts of Chichester is mightily impressive, plus it comes with two separate annexes that have each been let by Leaders.
8) A piece of history in Oxford…
Location: Oxford, Oxfordshire
The Grade II listed Bishop’s Cottage dates back to the 17th century and is surely one of the most historic properties to have been made available in 2015. It still retains original timbers and fireplaces, while residents can step out of the door and into one of the city’s most popular riverside pathways.
9) … and a futuristic home in Gloucestershire
Location: Stroud, Gloucestershire
Despite being approximately 400 years younger than Bishop’s Cottage, this four-bedroom house in Stroud proved just as popular. It provides an example of high-quality, futuristic living and is part of the exclusive Bownham Park development.
10) Myway House
Location: Windsor, Berkshire
Asking price: £2,300,000
Another property to have taken our breath away this year was Myway House, which has recently been constructed in the magnificent St Leonard’s Hill area of Windsor. It has been finished to the very highest standard and was immediately secured by an impressed buyer.
