Children's Hospice Week: Our fundraising itinerary

Our branches across the UK are planning to support Children’s Hospice Week in a variety of ways.

Find out what your local branch is up to below. We would love to see you on the relevant date to enjoy the planned activities and to raise money for Together for Short Lives.

Aldershot: The Aldershot branch is holding a raffle and street collection on May 14th. There will also be a cake sale and all of the staff will be wearing butterfly wings for the day.

Beckenham: The team in Beckenham are hosting a charity quiz night on May 8th. The top prize is £100, and there will also be a chance to win in the raffle.

Bitterne: One of the company’s cars will be filled with balloons and the Bitterne team will be asking local people to guess how many are inside. The team will be inside the shopping precinct on May 13th.

Bognor Regis: Branch manager Ian Colban is rowing 286 miles - the distance between Leaders’ two branches that are furthest apart, Eastbourne and Manchester - for the charity. He will complete the challenge in the branch on May 15th.

Bromley: Staff from the Bromley branch have opted to take part in a ten-kilometre sponsored walk through London on May 10th. You should be able to spot them as they will all be wearing butterfly wings.

Cambridge: Our Cambridge branch is raising money in local collections and via its page at https://www.justgiving.com/LeadersCambridge2015.

Cirencester: The Cirencester team will be running a 'how many balloons in the car' competition on May 15th, as well as a raffle.

Dorking: The Dorking branch has opted to run a purple theme on May 13th. All members of staff will be dressing in the colour for the day and the office will be decorated with purple balloons. The team will also collect and bag up unwanted items to donate to the local children’s hospice’s charity shop.

East Grinstead: The East Grinstead branch is completing a spin bike ride on May 15th. The team will be cycling constantly from 9am until 5.30pm.

Eastleigh: The team will be following a ‘Heroes’ theme on May 13th.

Fallowfield: The Fallowfield office has been busy collecting items from staff, contractors and local people to donate to a nearby charity shop in Burnage that operates on behalf of children’s hospice Francis House. The items will be delivered on May 15th.

Fareham: The Fareham branch has decided to adhere to a ‘Heroes’ theme on May 14th. There will also be a cake sale and a raffle, while senior property manager Sarah Button will be shaving her hair off to support the charity.

Faringdon: A cake stall, a book stall and a number of games (including a tombola) will be coming to the Faringdon office on May 15th. Branch manager Sharon Jackson will be cycling the distance between Helen & Douglas House in Oxford and the branch - about 40 miles in total - on a gym bike next to the stalls.

Felixstowe: The Felixstowe team will be holding a cake sale and jeans day on May 7th.

Fleet: The Fleet branch is holding its charity day on May 13th. The office will be decorated and the staff will be dressing up for the occasion. A cake sale and a raffle are to be held, with prizes for the latter including a meal for four, a wash and blow dry, jewellery, gift vouchers and a manicure and pedicure.

Haywards Heath: A mini cake sale is on the cards on May 16th, with the team selling baked goods from the branch.

Headington: The Headington branch is hosting a number of activities, all of which are based on a children's party. These include offering people the chance to buy a butterfly to go in the branch window for £1, a raffle, guessing how many butterflies are in a jar, a cake sale and dressing in purple on May 15th and 16th. Three members of the team are also taking part in the Rainbow Run on May 24th for the charity.

High Wycombe: The High Wycombe team will be running a stall at the local market on May 12th. They will stock it with plenty of home-made cakes and other culinary delights. There will also be a tombola.

Horsham: Our team in Horsham will be the proud owner of a model elephant, as part of the town’s Elephantastic event. There will also be a grand raffle on May 15th and the branch has already secured a number of great prizes from local businesses. These include a meal platter voucher for Nando’s, a meal for two at Cote, lunch for two at Wabi, a voucher for Bills, a Thomas Sabo bracelet worth £140 (donated by Wakefields Jewellers), a voucher for the Carmela Sicilian restaurant and a £20 beauty voucher at Hair Boutique.

Huntingdon: The Huntingdon team will be out and about in the town collecting money for the charity.

Kingston: Members of the Leaders team in Kingston will be taking part in Shooting Star CHASE’s 10k Sunrise Walk on May 31st. The route will take them past some of the main local sights, including Richmond Park, the Thames, Ham Common, Bushy Park and Home Park (near Hampton Court Palace).

Leatherhead: A butterfly theme has been set for the Leatherhead office’s charity day on May 13th. Children will be invited to take part in a Design Your Own Butterfly event, with each entry requiring a donation of 50p. All of the butterflies will be given to the local children’s hospital for display.

Littlehampton: Two fun games have been planned by the Littlehampton branch - ‘Guess the name of the teddy’ and ‘How many sweets are in the jar?’ will both take place throughout Children’s Hospice Week.

Norwich: Our team in Norwich are having a purple-themed non-uniform day on May 16th and will also be selling cakes outside the branch in St George's Street.

Sarisbury Green: The Sarisbury Green branch will be selling butterfly cakes, butterfly colouring books and butterfly badges on May 15th. All of the staff will be dressing up as superheroes - apart from Karen Arkell (a Southampton supporter) and Judy Davis (a Portsmouth supporter) who will be wearing the other club’s shirt for the day.

Southampton: The Southampton branch is running a Decorate a Butterfly competition for children. Local schools have been invited to enter and there will be a prize for one child aged between four and six, and another between seven and 11. The winner for each category will be announced on May 17th.

Southsea: On May 15th, the Southsea team will be dressing up in purple to show their support for the charity and there will also be a raffle taking place.

Sovereign Harbour: The Sovereign Harbour team will be holding a raffle and cake sale on May 14th.

St Albans: The St Albans branch is holding a fundraising day on May 15th. There will be an exercise bike in the office and the team will aim to cycle 236.7 miles - the distance between all of Leaders’ branches in East Anglia - in exchange for donations. There will also be a fancy dress contest with a superhero theme.

Sudbury: Staff in our Sudbury office are dressing up as superheroes on May 14th to support the charity. They will also be holding a raffle and offering coffee and cakes to visitors.

Walton-on-Thames: Our Walton-on-Thames team will be holding a cake sale and a raffle on May 14th. There will also be an opportunity for children to have their faces painted. The fun starts at 1pm.

Winchester: The team in Winchester are having a special day with a purple theme. Everything in the office on May 15th will be purple. There will also be a bake sale.

Woking: Leaders in Woking is planning to collect and bag up as many unwanted items as possible for the local children’s hospice’s charity shop.

Woodbridge: The team at Leaders Woodbridge will be dressing up as the doctors and nurses on May 15th to celebrate the heroes involved with care at the East Anglian Children’s Hospices. Drop in any time throughout the day for tea and cake to help support our charity day.

Worthing: Branch manager Sally Stewart and other members of the Worthing team are set to take on a charity abseil later this summer. They are also collecting items to donate to Chestnut Tree House.
