At Leaders, we take a proactive approach in ensuring all overdue residential rents are collected as we are not only mindful of preventing our tenants from falling into arrears and eventually facing eviction, but also because many of our landlords rely on the prompt payment of rent to meet their own mortgage payments.
Reporting to the Office Manager, this pivotal position will see our successful candidate ensure our credit control process runs smoothly and effectively. Using our fully computerised collection process, you will achieve this by:
• Reviewing daily arrears schedules for the Midlands region
• Issuing reminder letters of increasing strength at 6, 11 and 21 day intervals after the rent due date
• Making collection telephone calls and initiating personal visits where telephone calls are ineffective
• Issuing company invoices and / or Section 8 Notices under the 1988 Housing Act
• Liaising with Landlords and Tenants on general queries regarding rent, refunds and statements
You will need to be highly organised, professional and enthusiastic, with a willingness to work as part of a large and dynamic team. Calm and resilient, you must be able to deal with difficult clients who are in arrears, while also boasting strong IT, communication and time-management skills. Previous experience is not essential but a proven customer service background would be a bonus.
