Leaders Limited Data Protection Policy

In order to service the needs of our customers and effectively communicate with them, we must collect and store a variety of information. We take the privacy of our customers (current, past or prospective) very seriously and therefore have taken measures to ensure that data is handled and stored correctly in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

Information we store

Personal data is integral to the successful operations of our business we therefore store a variety of information which may include names, addresses, telephone numbers, bank details and other information relating to the relationship between the customer and our business.

As a business we will comply with the eight enforceable data protection principles by making sure that personal data is:

1. fairly and lawfully processed
2. processed for limited purposes
3. adequate, relevant and not excessive
4. accurate and kept up to date
5. not kept longer than necessary
6. processed in accordance with the individual's rights
7. secure
8. not transferred to countries outside the European Economic area unless the country to which the data is to be transferred has adequate protection for the individuals

As part of our commitment to data protection we will ensure that:

  • anyone who has access to or who manages personal information has received appropriate training and understands they are responsible for following the data protection principles
  • we have a dedicated information controller who will oversee and monitor the management of personal information within the business. This person is responsible for ensuring that the policy is effectively implemented
  • we will regularly asses and monitor how we store and use personal information
  • we will take any necessary steps to ensure that personal information is kept secure at all times
  • we will only share your data with third party organisations with whom we work closely with. All of the organisations abide by the data protection principles as set out by the Act

Your rights as a customer

You have the right to:

  • obtain a copy of any personal information via a subject access request (SAR) These need to submitted to the Data Controller (the Group Compliance Director), Leaders Limited, Crowthorne House, Nine Mile Ride, Wokingham, Berkshire, RG40 3GZ
  • the right to claim compensation from us for damage and distress caused by any breach of the Act
  • ask us to remove your data from all of our systems
