As a senior compliance professional with a track record in the property and lettings sector, you will be motivated by the challenge this executive level role offers and the opportunity it provides to take responsibility for our Group legal compliance.
Following a recent successful merger, our Group now comprises Leaders and Romans, whose unrivalled experience of the property market and principle of evolving to customers’ needs have seen them both experience rapid growth.
As Director of Legal & Compliance, you will report to our Chief Operating Officer and be responsible for delivering a meticulous statutory compliance service across the Group’s multiple disciplines. This will involve leading and guiding the relevant teams/experts, developing a toolkit of standards, procedures and policies and regular audits to ensure a clear, compliant and consistent approach to the activities of the Group. With sound knowledge of legal compliance gained in a property and lettings environment, you will:
•Ensure all internal processes meet industry regulations and standards, including gas and health and safety, anti-money laundering in conjunction with the CFO and data protection legislation in line with the COO
•Provide monthly KPI information to the COO and relevant department and divisional heads, giving a clear overview of the business performance in relation to legal, operational and finance compliance
•Work with the Marketing team to ensure legal compliance of all Group marketing material
•Maintain Group membership of all regulatory bodies
•Deal with escalated client complaints as well as complaints from the TPO, TDS, ARLA, etc which involve any legal action, ensuring that the relevant Director is satisfied with any response given. This may involve preparing and filing a defence and attending court as necessary
To succeed it is essential that you can demonstrate significant knowledge and experience of the residential lettings, sales and property management industry from a legal and compliance perspective and that you are an ARLA licence member. Educated to degree level or with relevant experience, you must be a strong leader as well as a credible and confident communicator with excellent presentation skills. We are seeking a candidate who:

•Can demonstrate a commercially astute and customer focused track record
•Is numerate with strong analytical and problem solving ability
•Has first class organisational and time management skills
