Human Resources Advisor (Maternity Cover)

Would you like to be responsible for providing HR advice on a wide range of employee relations issues and work on HR projects within a national company with more than 99 branches and almost 1,000 employees?

That’s exactly what our Human Resources Advisor will be required to do, with the successful candidate working with managers across the company.  You will need the drive and dedication required to ensure that best practice is implemented throughout the business, not to mention a significant amount of HR knowledge and expertise too.

We are looking for somebody to fill this role on a temporary basis to cover for maternity absence from September 2015 for a period of 9-12 months in line with the job holders intended return to work.

Working regionally alongside middle management teams, our Human Resources Advisor will be the go-to expert on all employee relations issues including disciplinary, capability, grievances, redundancy and restructures and occupational health referrals.  You will also be responsible for acquisitions - from due diligence to the integration of employees into the Group.

The role offers a fascinating, challenging and stimulating environment in which to learn, develop and achieve tremendous results.  You will be expected to maintain a thorough knowledge of HR and all aspects of employment legislation; you will also be line manager for one of our HR Administrators. 

So what are we looking for in an HR Advisor?

Firstly, it is essential that you are CIPD qualified and that you have proven experience of advising on employee relations, with an up to date knowledge of employment law.  

You will: 

• have a commercially pragmatic approach to your work and find business focused solutions

• work on your own initiative, within a changing and highly pressured environment

• be developing line management’s HR knowledge and competence

• have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build credibility and strong professional relationships at all levels

• work with an HR database to ensure that you are fully across the key data for your regions

• be a car owner/driver who is willing to travel between offices as required.  

To succeed in this role you will need to be independent, confident and have a passion for providing excellent support to the business. You will be used to working in a high volume environment and be used to supporting the business across a wide geographical area.  You should be a proactive individual with a ‘can-do’ attitude and the ambition to make a positive impact on the company’s HR service to the business.
