One of the key areas that we are heavily invested in is sustainability and our impact on the environment. To achieve this, we have made many changes across the business, including those listed below.

Sustainable branches

We launched our first ever sustainable branch in Brighton Kemptown in September 2022. There is a host of features that make this the most sustainable model possible, for example:

šŸŒ± Powered by 100% renewable energy
šŸŒ± Doors, skirtings, partitions, and countertops sourced from locally produced FSC-certified wood
šŸŒ± All furniture made from recycled or upcycled materials (and will be recycled or upcycled at the end of its lifecycle)
šŸŒ± Office chairs made from 100% recycled fabric in a closed-loop content production process, with 25% of the raw material derived from the brandā€™s own recycled waste streams
šŸŒ± Timed lighting, air con and heating so that electricity is not wasted
šŸŒ± Solar film lined windows to reflect heat out and lower the need for electricity
šŸŒ± Low-flow kitchen taps - saving 30-50% on water consumption
šŸŒ± Carpet made from 65% post-industrial recycled content (and the supplier will repurpose and recycle when it reaches the end of life).

This became the blueprint for any new branches or branch refurbishments of ours going forwards. You can read more about the Brighton Kemptown branch here.

Other sustainable Leaders branches include Aylesbury and Lewes.

Recyclable lettings and sales boards

Weā€™ve changed how our sales and lettings boards are produced. The boards themselves are made from recycled plastic materials (old boards, packaging, cartons etc), but when the board comes to the end of its life, it can then be recycled again to avoid landfill. In 2022, we recycled 4,000 boards!

Green The UK partnership

In partnership with Green The UK, we planted a tree for any new property that was sold or let with us. From 2021-2023, over 26,000 trees were planted and customers get regular updates on their treeā€™s growth by email!

This partnership developed further so that we can positively help the environment in more ways. We helped restore approx. 300 sq m of native oysters in 2023 (they help filter the ocean), and we're helping restore 70,000 sq m of wildflower-rich meadows from 2023 into 2024. Another of our projects with them is helping preserve kelp off of the South Coast.

Reducing paper use

We use DocuSign to enable documents to be signed digitally rather than having to be printed. We also use Mailadoc across our branch network. This reduces printing on site further. All paper we purchase is 100% recycled.
