New ‘How to rent’ guide

New ‘How to rent’ guide
15th January 2021

On 10th December, the Government published an updated ‘How to rent’ guide, taking into account all the recent changes. The guide is for tenants and landlords to help them understand their rights and responsibilities. It provides a checklist and more detailed information on each stage of the process, including:

  • what to look out for before renting
  • living in a rented home
  • what happens at the end of a tenancy
  • what to do if things go wrong

Remember, if we don’t manage your property, you must make sure you’re issuing the latest version to tenants for new and renewed tenancies, otherwise it will invalidate any future Section 21 action. We’d also recommend you download and email the new version to current tenants as a matter of good practice.

Rest assured, if we manage your property, we will look after this for you.
