I contacted Leaders Letting & Estate Agents in Long Eaton to arrange valuations for my uncle’s properties, and I was really impressed with the level of customer service from the very first phone call. The reason for the valuations was because of a difficult family situation, so it was really important that everything was handled in a straightforward and stress free way, which is exactly what happened. I spoke with Mina first, who took the time to listen and go through the details needed, especially since there were multiple properties involved. She was professional, patient, and very thorough when collecting the initial information, which made the process feel organised right from the start. Later I needed to change one of the valuation dates because the tenants at one property couldn’t make the original appointment. I spoke with Ursula, who said she would contact the tenants to sort it out. What really stood out was the efficiency, by the time I phoned the tenants myself to let them know, Ursula had already spoken to them and arranged everything, I was genuinely surprised by how quickly it was handled. The valuation was carried out by Kim, who was friendly, patient, and professional. She was happy to go through everything with my uncle making sure he understood the information being discussed. Compared with other agents who visited, Kim seemed to be the most prepared and had information available that the others didn’t. Kim methodically presented everything clearly and explained things without making my uncle feel rushed or pressured. My uncle was very pleased with the way in which she came across, he felt she was a true professional and was very happy with the service provided. The reports arrived quickly in both PDF format as promised, and in a more detailed presentation format via a link provided in the email. They were the only agent to provide the information in this way with that extra level of detail. Overall, it was an excellent service. Nothing felt like too much trouble, and everyone I dealt with was helpful, efficient, and professional throughout. It is easy to see why the competition in Long Eaton is so hotly contended when you have teams like this to compete against.

10 steps to letting a property

Choose a reputable local expert to provide an accurate rental valuation.

Consider how involved you want to be as a landlord. Will collecting rent, dealing with maintenance issues, and inspecting the property take too long? Select your service based on how much help you are looking for.

As a Leaders landlord, you’ll have access to a large and active tenant database and proven advertising strategies.

Experienced Leaders agents will show prospective tenants around the property. You can let prospective tenants know it’s cared for by fixing maintenance issues, cleaning, and decluttering before the viewings.

Our agents will handle negotiations and offers on your behalf, striving to get you the best rental price, contract length and tenants.

We make sure your investment is secure, using strict referencing procedures with independent experts and thorough credit checks.

We prepare a tenancy agreement for both parties to read and sign.

To minimise the risk of disputes, Leaders use an independent inventory service. This is a detailed list of the property’s condition and contents when the tenant moves in, signed by the tenant and the landlord.

The tenant pays a deposit to secure the property – unless you offer the no-deposit option. The deposit is held independently against possible damage to the property.

When your tenants move in, you must make sure they have access to user manuals, instructions and any other paperwork they may need.
